ASC is now fully permitted to operate the Singapore to Western Australia (via Indonesia) submarine cable after receiving the Indonesia Landing Permit approval. The ASC team recently attended the Pacific Telecommunications Council conference in Hawaii where they met with prospective customers and discussed opportunities to connect to the cable. The new high-capacity submarine link will directly connect Perth to Singapore via Jakarta. The cable is 4,600km in length and will provide potential for the regions first 100Gbit/s high-speed connection.
Working with submarine cable solutions provider (Alcatel Submarine Networks), ASC has already delivered the project design and the construction phase of the project will start early this year. Commercial operation is currently planned for Q2 2015.
